François Place
Francois Place, an author recognised both for his writing (La Douane volante, Gallimard), and for his illustrations (The Old Man Mad About Drawing, David R. Godine), is passionate about the wonders of travels (Les Derniers géants or L’Atlas des géographes d’Orbæ, both published by Casterman). A long-time friend of Michael Morpurgo’s, he illustrated five of his novels, including War Horse and Kensuke’s Kingdom. We are really pleased to launch the festival this year with a joint appearance of François Place and Michael Morpurgo.
