Both stars of French and British children’s publishing, former Children’s laureate Michael Morpurgo and French writer and illustrator François Place have crossed pen and brush before. A very special festival launch event filled with storytelling, live drawing and a double dose of creative inspiration will celebrate the work of Michael Morpurgo with an appearance from Francois Place and songs from Ben Murray.
Due to ongoing problems with his voice and the treatment he has been receiving for this, Michael has been advised by doctors that he must cancel his speaking engagement for tonight. His piece for the evening will be read by actor David Mildon. Michael wishes to extend his personal apologies to his readers for the short-notice cancellation.
